Barbara Blakemore
Barbara Blakemore is an Episcopal priest who served on the staff of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Chesapeake, Va. and moved to Hanover County in 1996 where she was rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church at Hanover Courthouse until her retirement. She became a board member of Hanover Mental Health Association in 2008.  
 
Madge S. Carter, B.S., M.S., PH.D
Madge Carter taught for Richmond City Schools for more than 40 years, including home-bound instruction of disabled and critically ill students. She was an adjunct faculty member at the College of William and Mary for five years. She serves on the boards of Kiddie Kingdom and Hanover Academy and volunteers for many other organizations. She has been a member of the board of Hanover Mental Health Association since its inception.

Jennifer G. Diehl, LCSW PBSF
Jennifer Diehl is a licensed clinical social worker and positive behavior support facilitator.  A therapist at Hanover County Community Services, she works with individuals and families.  She is also a behavior consultant for Positive Behavior Consulting, LLC, and has her own private practice in the Ashland area.

Linda N. Evans
A former journalist, Linda Evans has worked in higher education public relations and marketing at three Virginia colleges. Currently at the University of Richmond, she promotes the university and its faculty to local, regional and national news media. She has won national and regional awards from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, National Federation of Press Women, Virginia Press Women and Public Relations Society of America.  

Pat Funk
Pat Funk has been a member of the board of HMHA since the mid-1970s. With a special interest in mental health needs, she finds the endeavors of the board to be very rewarding. She was a real estate agent for 20 years. She moved with her family of origin to Ashland in 1946. She, her husband and three children moved back in 1971.

Tom Hale

Carol C. Hughes, Ed.D., LPC
Carol Hughes is professor emeritus of psychology at Randolph-Macon College. She is a licensed professional counselor, a Virginia Supreme Court certified family mediator, and both a level II EMDR specialist and an Imago Relationship Therapist. With more than 1,400 hours of specialized training beyond her doctorate from The College of William and Mary, she is an experienced practitioner who offers an unusual breadth of services to her clients.

Kay B. Loving
Kay Loving has been a math teacher at Liberty Middle School and a counselor and director of guidance at Patrick Henry High School. She received a bachelor's degree in math from the University of Richmond and a master's in counseling from VCU. After retiring, she continued to teach math part-time at Patrick Henry and now works for Germanna Community College as a part-time career coach at Caroline High School. She serves on the board of Kiddie Kingdom, Inc., a nonprofit day care.

Karen Rice, MSW, LCSW
Karen Rice has served the board as clinical consultant, member, Friends of Hanover representative and president.  She began her clinical career in Hanover County in public mental health, maintains a private practice in Ashland, and is the director of clinical and community services at the Virginia Home for Boys and Girls.  Specialized areas of practice for Ms. Rice include treating those with anxiety and depression, working with teens, and facilitating conflict resolution with separated and divorced co-parents.   

Woodi Sprinkel, MSW, LCSW
Woodi Sprinkel is a licensed clinical social worker who has been in private practice as a psychotherapist in Richmond, Va., since 1978. She specializes in individual, couples and group psychotherapy. Many of her clients are clergy, clergy spouses and others in various forms of ministry. Her clinical specializations include work with sexual offenders and their victims, adults severely traumatized as children, individuals and families with addictions, as well as the general population.

Janet Taylor
Janet Taylor teaches earth science, ecology and biology to students at all grade levels at King William High School. She has been a concerned Ashland resident for the past 23 years. She joined the HMHA board in 2009 and serves as treasurer.
